Transit Procedure:

(This procedure is applicable from 1 January 2008)

As per our previous memorandum, Communication to traders issued on the 16^th November 2007, regarding the Euro changeover, all traders are informed that the Customs Electronic System (CES) will not be accessible for any manifests registered before the 1^st of January 2008.

Therefore, all Customs Manifest users are hereby informed that for all outstanding transport documents registered in 2007, and for which a transit procedure is required, the carrier has to send an email to the Computer Section (compsec.customs@gov.mt) with the information stated below. Consequently, a fresh TMSD will be raised by the Computer Section on the carrier’s behalf .  The carrier, then, will be informed with the TMSD new reference number via email. The transit procedure will proceed as normal from thereof.
